We publish award-winning books.
Litara Foundation aspirases to improve the literary standard of Indonesian children’s literature by producing children’s picture books with high-quality stories and illustrations. Our books promote Indonesian cultural heritage to young readers in Indonesian and abroad. Since its establishment in 2014, Litara books has woon a grand prize and seven runner up prizes in 2015th and 2016th Samsung Kids Time Authors’ Award, one was shortished in 2013 Singtel Asia’s children’s picture book competition, and another one was nominated in 2014 Nami Concour children’s book award for illustration. Litara foundation maintains the content’s quality while trying to aim for potential participations in distributing the books throughout teh country. Litara also works with authors and illustrations through workshops and trainings toenchance their competence.

Established in 2013, Litara accomodateswriters and illustrators with the same ideals; improving the quality of Indonesian children’s book throught creative art-works and engaging stories so as to enable the books to represent Indonesia abroad. Litara also aspires to improve Indonesian children’s literacy and nurture the love of reading.

OUR NETWORKS

  • Litara works with Indonesian Forum for Children’s Book Writers (FPBA), which hods around 12,000 members across the nation and Indonesian Forum Children’s Book Illustratorss (KELIR) which accommodates around 250 members.
  • Litara is actively participating in Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and International Board of Books for Young People (IBBY).

OUR GOALS

  • To support the production of high quality children’s books.

  • To develop Indonesian children’s literacy skills by bringing high quality children’s books closer to children’s everyday lives.

  • To improve the literacy standard of Indonesian children’s literature by bringing together all potentials and stakeholders. including scholars, critics, writers, illustrators, publishers, and consumers.

  • To improve the competence of children’s book creators through creative camps.

  • To proactively promote Indonesia and our culture through children’s books in the international competitions and events.
