Established in 2014, Litara accommodates writers and illustrators with the same ideals; improving the quality of Indonesian children’s books through creative artworks and engaging stories so as to enable the books to represent Indonesia abroad. Litara also aspires to improve Indonesian children’s literacy and nurture the love of reading.

Litara Foundation aspires to improve the literary standard of Indonesian children’s literature by producing children’s picture books with high-quality stories and illustrations. Our books promote Indonesian cultural heritage to young leaders in Indonesia and abroad.

Since its establishment in 2014, Litara books has won several awards in 2015 th and 2016 th Samsung KidsTime Authors’ Award, shortlisted in 2013 Singtel Asia’s Children’s Picture Book competition, nominated in 2014 Nami Concour Children’s Book Award for illustration, received The Honorary Mention of the Biennial of Illustrations Bratislava to Publisher in 2017, and selected to participate in The Invitation Programme for Publishers in Frankfurt Buchmesse 2018.

Litara Foundation maintains the content’s quality while trying to aim for potential participations in distributing the books throughout the country. Litara also works with authors and illustrators through workshops and trainings to enhance their competence.
