Established in 2014, Litara Foundation aims to improve the literacy of Indonesian children through mentoring and training communities, teachers and literacy activists. Litara's founders and activists consist of teachers, writers, illustrators, editors, translators, academics, practitioners and education consultants. Litara's areas of work include community assistance for literacy activities, TBM establishment and activist training, teacher training, making literacy and numeracy modules for the emergency curriculum, making textbooks and teacher guides (PAUD, SD, SMP, SMA), training writers and illustrators, producing quality children's books, book donations, research on children's literacy, and building partnerships or cooperation.
